“Koufini will be controlled by mixed police patrols of Montenegro's Police and Army, primarily to prevent illegal state border crossings with the Republic of Albania, as well as other illegal actions at the border and at the border area” , says the press statement.
It is also confirmed that the initiative was taken on the basis of the Defence and Security Council's decision.
Meanwhile and Albania have strengthened border control. On August 8th alone, 16 immigrants who had left Syria and Iraq to move towards EU countries have been detained. In the same area on August 3rd, 14 others have been detained.
