Austria's capital has been named the best place to live. Vienna went up to the top of the classification drafted by the “Intelligence Unit The Economist” for 2018.
The adaptability index for living has only two European cities in the top ten.
Vienna ranks first, replacing Melbourne in Australia, a city that has been on top of the list for seven years.
The increases Vienna has experienced in several categories, particularly in that of stability, have been sufficient for the Austrian capital to capture Melbourne”, the report, which also mentions low crime rates and numerous cultural resources.
Other major cities, such as New York (57th) or London (48th) have failed to position themselves well, a phenomenon that “The Economist” explains by “the destruction of the great city”, the expansion of infrastructure but also the high degree of criminality.
Another element highlighted by the report for 140 cities in the world is the 2.5% growth in stability. The report explains that this trend is a reflection of improved security in many areas.
