Out of 87,000 citizens living in diaspora, only 2,755 have expressed interest in submitting to the referendum on the name issue. 100 of those submitted have been refused because of lack of access to necessary documentation, as well as a lack of permanent residence in Macedonia. Out of a total of 50 diplomatic representations around the world, for now only 33 of them will open the polls, as the number of more than 10 submitted has not been met, which is the condition for opening a poll. Meanwhile, the cost of implementing the referendum in diaspora will cost about 12 million denars, which is one-third of the expenditures that have been made during past elections for the diaspora.
“currently will be voted to 33 diplomatic representation and to the one in Bern where there are 320 submitted for vote, Venice 238, Ljubljana 217, Vienna 151, Toronto 148, London 139, Hag 120, Berlin 105, Melbourne 104, Kanbera 103, Minhen 89. I think we'll spend a third of the money we spent last time. If last time it cost about 35 million you can count on”, said Oliver Derkoski, chairman of the KSHZ.
Meanwhile, the number of local citizens who have inspected the election list in the KSHZ offices has reached about 6,000. From the KSHZ announced that the Interior Ministry has prepared IDs for about 300 inmates who have not possessed identification documents so the same can give their vote about the referendum.
