At first the media are told they should wait until the end of the meeting, because President Isa Mustafa will hold a press conference.
But, after more than two hours of waiting, neither Mustafa nor any other LDK official has been promoted, saying briefly that they will soon issue communiqués to the media.
This is the communiqué issued by the LDK after the party leadership meeting:
The Democratic League of Kosovo is following very carefully the debate and attitudes regarding the final phase of the dialogue process for normalising relations with Serbia.
The Democratic League of Kosovo believes open issues between Kosovo and Serbia can only be resolved through dialogue.
The Democratic League of Kosovo highly recognises the European Union's role in this process and the continued support of the United States of America, as well as believes that both, especially at this stage, should be fully involved in the process.
The Democratic League of Kosovo stresses that in recent days, especially on the part of the country's president, reckless statements have been made contrary to the Kosovo Constitution and the president's constitutional mandate, so the LDK considers it necessary to seek the Constitutional Court's opinion in this regard.
The country's president has failed to have unifying function and guarantors of the country's constitutional order, affecting just that order on the side of his stances.
The Democratic League of Kosovo reiterates once again that the president cannot represent Kosovo in this process, because he is not mandated by the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo.
The Democratic League of Kosovo reiterates that Kosovo's borders and state subjectivity are defined with the Declaration of Independence, the opinion of the International Court of Justice, and emphasises the fact that Kosovo is accepted by the majority of the world's free nations. Therefore, the final agreement with Serbia must be reached: not violating Kosovo's territorial integrity in any form; maintaining the unitary character of the state of Kosovo and respecting the spirit of the Kosovo Constitution.
The Democratic League of Kosovo estimates that dialogue should be led by the constitutional institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, after verifying legitimacy by the vote of Kosovo citizens in early elections, since current institutions have lost political power and civic legitimacy to lead and represent Kosovo.
The Democratic League of Kosovo is ready to become an active part of the dialogue process, but only after civic legitimacy through free vote.
