Tuesday, August 21st, will be the festival of Kurban Bajram. Kurban Bajrami Festival celebrated by Muslim, Bektas believers
The festival, according to Islam, honors Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son for the sake of submission to God's command before God intervenes through his angel Gabriel and inform Abraham that his sacrifice has been accepted.
The meat from the sacrificed animal is divided into three parts. The family has a third; another third is given to the relatives, friends, and neighbors; and a third part is divided to the poor and needy. On the Hijr calendar (islam), Kurban Bajrami falls on the 10th day of the month Dhulhagee and lasts for four days.
