The plane was released Wednesday amid mounting tensions in the Middle East, as well as Tehran's growing confrontation with Washington. President Rouhan and Defence Minister Amir Hatami were present for the ceremony.
Addressing military officials in Tehran on Tuesday, Rouhan stressed that the country's military power is meant for protection, but warned it would react against any hostile movement.
“We must prepare to fight against military forces that want to take our territory and our resources“, Rouhan said in a live broadcast speech on state television Tuesday, Reuters broadcast.
