Referring to police officials, the ENA agency reported that the accident occurred this morning.
The helicopter was flying out of the city of Dire Dawa, east of the country, and headed to the air base in Bishoft, southeast of the capital, Addis Ababa.
For now, there is no known cause of the accident.
