KosovoPress has reported on the KEK trade unions' clashes with the manager's position.
Kosovo Energy Corporation's Independent Union of Workers (KEK), led by Izet Mustafa, as well as the new KEK Union, represented by Rafet Osmani, are in no way being reconciled to the selection of the new managing director of this corporation, known as Kosovo economic giant.
Both trade unions require that KEK's acting director, who has remained empty since Arben Juka's resignation from May 31st 2018, be professional and recognise the Corporation's work.
But unlike the Independent Union of Workers, the new Union is insisting that the new director be someone on the inside and the current management. This request for Izet Mustafen leading the Independent Union of Workers is intrusive and decisive in selecting policy people within KEK, adding further that the pressure of the new union comes also as an impact of the policy to elect executive director Niazi Thaci's task officer.
Asked about the reasons for not opening the contest so far, after it had been cancelled twice, he April 4th, as well as the June 1st competition, as well as the Union's request, KEK board chairman Hajrizi has told Kosovas they are in consultation with the implementing partner of the interim agreement concerning the KEK draft, the British Embassy.
“At present, the KEK Board of Directors is consulting with the British Embassy's implementing partner Conform Agreement on the draft recruiting that this Embassy has with the shareholder, respectively, the country's government, and which includes the position of KEK Managing Director and the new competition will be announced in the coming days. In this direction we announce that the Board of Directors is committed and has the obligation to conduct an open, transparent and competitive procedure, which aims to make this appointment exclusively based on the merit of”, Hajrizi told Kosova Prees.
The Kosovo Energy Corporation has re-declared the competition for management positions, Financial Executive Director and General/Secretary of the Corporation on 1 June. The manager's position requires that the candidate have at least 5 years of high management experience.
It also requires that there be university degrees in the launch of business administration, economy, finance, engineering or law management. KEK has for the first time announced a competition for Director Management on April 5th.
Ministry of Economic Development ( MZE) through an opinion sent the Kosovo Energy Corporation's (BD) Steering Board (KEK) has demanded that the decision be reviewed for the April 4th and 5th competition for management, internal audit official, Financial Executive Director and KEK General/Secretar Council.
