German diplomat during this conference has also commented on visa liberalisation.
Offering clear support for visa liberalisation, he hesitated to give an exact date when Kosovars will move freely towards European countries.
I am extremely reluctant to talk about exact dates for processes that I cannot control, so I would say yes, I absolutely hope that as soon as possible, the better. This demand from Kosovo as the only country on the continent, where young people in particular are unable to travel and discover Europe, which they should join is not a satisfactory situation. In correcting the borders, the German ambassador said that the issue of border changes has ended forever.
I think this continent has seen enough in terms of borders in past centuries. So let's try to improve the lives of the citizens, who want communities that belong to their respective countries and not try to resolve the border changes. I think these times have passed forever”, the German ambassador to Kosovo said.
Asked about the investigative procedures for the murder of Serbian politician Oliver Ivanovic earlier this year in the north, Heldt preferred not to respond by saying that “is a good tradition not to comment on the investigations which are ongoing”.
