This is Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan's response to this Wednesday, as relations between the two NATO allies have been strained due to the imprisonment of an American pastor in Turkey on charges of terrorism.
Speaking to reporters in Ankara, Erdogan said Turkey does not compromise on the independence of the judiciary, while adding that remarks to the Evangelist or spiritist mentality in the United States are unacceptable.
He further stated that Foreign Minister Mevluut Cavusoglu will hold talks with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeii, within the framework of the Southeast Asian Nations Association meeting in Singapore.
