Russia's President Vladimir Putin and Turkish counterpart Recep Tayip Erdogan will soon meet to discuss the S-400 anti-aircraft systems agreement.

The meeting comes at the height of Turkey- The US and the more nerve-building Donald Trump has thought Turkish sides, choosing Putin and Erdogan to discuss eating fish or lobster, as they will meet at a special restaurant in Istanbul.

The invitation has come from Erdogan and has been sent to Putin by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Friday.

It says: your lovely “Miccus, Mr. Erdogan has sought to send his greetings and congratulations, hoping for your visit to Istanbul in the near future. I invite you to go to a fish restaurant”.

But the story of the fish restaurant was not born spontaneously, but dates back to the BRUC summit in July.

Putin then reminded his Turkish counterpart that Erdogan once invited him to eat together in a fish restaurant.

When Erdogan stressed that the invitation still stands, the Russian president stressed that the issue with meat exports to Turkey must first be resolved.

And Erdogan did not question Putin as he is doing to US ally Donald Trump.

In late July, Russia launched meat exports to Turkey, and the Turkish president paved the way for the meeting at the fish restaurant.

Relations between Russia and Turkey are growing stronger, which has apparently angered Ankara's US ally, the Day conveyed. Ankara and Washington's ties are on a downward spiral as horns clash harder after Turkey's decision to buy Russia's S-400 missile systems.

Erdogan's government is also determined to push ahead with the purchase of American F-35 aircraft, which US lawmakers are trying to block because of Ankara's S-400 agreement.

Earlier this week, Russian arms exporter “Rosoboronexport” found that Turkey will receive the first series of S-400 air defence systems next year.

Following the statement, State Department official Heather Nauert noted that the US had already made “very clear what could trigger sanctions for countries and other entities around the world” if they move forward with the purchase of Russian systems.
