Sali Berisha's visit and political influence in Kosovo had greatly distressed President Hashim Thaci in the summer of 2009, so reportedly in information from the Wikipedia network.
“In a private conversation shortly after the meeting, Thaci told those in charge of work that he was concerned by Prime Minister Sali Berisha's involvement in Kosovo policy” said on cables that the American Embassy in Pristina has launched to the State Department.
Thaci's reaction had come after Berisha's meeting in Tirana with AAK Chairman Ramush Haradinaj.
Thaci even praised the threat to Kosovo by naming Kosovo sovereign. He has urged Americans to prevent Berisha's influence and has vowed that he will not act without consulting Americans.
