Dodik denies genocide committed in Srebrenica

Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik has objected, about whether the 1995 Srebrenica massacre is the genocide committed against Bosnian Muslims and has called for the launch of an impartial “ ” international for this tragedy. “Crime in Srebrenica is an installed tragedy with the aim of Satanising Serbs”, said [...]
“The crime in Srebrenica is a continuing tragedy with the aim of Satanising Serbs”, Dodik said, ahead of the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Assembly in Republika Srpska.
Dodik demanded that the legislature revote the 2004 report, drafted by the previous government, and called for a new investigation into events that took place in the Podrina region, where Srebrenica is located during the 1992-1995 Bosnian war.
These calls by Dodik are seen as attempts to secure the support of Bosnian Serbs, ahead of the general elections to be held in October.
Shehiida Abdurahmanovic, a member of the “Srebrenica Mothers”, has named Dodik's statements as the shameful and inhuman “compared to the victims”.
About 8 thousand Muslim men and boys had been killed by Bosnian Serb forces in and around the city of Srebrenica in July 1995. This event has been considered the worst act of genocide in Europe since the end of World War II.
In 2007, the International War Crimes Tribunal at The Hague said that the Srebrenica killings are genocide.
But, Dodik has rejected such a challenge, arguing he has been manipulated with the number of executed persons.
“The majority of those buried were killed during the fighting and on this list (the list of buried victims), there are people still alive”, Dodik has indicated.
The International War Crimes Tribunal in the former Yugoslavia has convicted Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic and army commander Ratko Mladic of their role in the Srebrenica massacre and of other atrocities committed during the war in Bosnia. (REL)
