Delaway confirms US support for Kosovo

36 young American volunteers have spent the last 10 weeks in Kosovo, as part of the Peace Corps volunteers' training programme. They today have been rewarded with gratitude by the American ambassador to Kosovo, and will officially begin their service as English-language educators and maintains Kosovo.
US Ambassador to Pristina Greg Delaway stressed that the work and dedication of these young people is a symbol of strong diplomatic ties between the United States of America and Kosovo.
According to him, the Peace Corps presents the American contribution to the world and to Kosovo.
And, Minister of Education, Thank you Bytyqi, express gratitude to American volunteers because education in Kosovo needs depoliticisation and cultural mix.
Meanwhile, Peace Corps Training Programme Director Karen Scheuer thanked all those families who opened their homes and, with Kosovo hospitality, accepted volunteers as members of their family.
Volunteers have expressed great satisfaction with waiting in Kosovo, and some have done so in Albanian.
Since 1961, over 200,000 Americans have served at the Peace Corps in 140 different countries. Kosovo became the 140th country in June 2014.
