“Austria has a good opportunity for fostering relations due to its central location in Europe and its ties to Eastern Europe”, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said during a meeting in the German state of Turingia, ahead of about 3,000 members of the Union Christian Democrat (CDU) party, Angela Merkel, writes ATSH.
According to Chancellor Kurz, “one of the reasons why Europe is being torn apart is because the large influx of immigrants in recent years has made it more difficult for some countries to provide assistance, as well as has fostered hostility between pro and anti-imigration groups”.
All this has shown that Europe is reaching its limits at a time when there are no functional external boundaries”, Kurz added.
