Turkey's Ambassador to Pristina, Kivilim Kilic, said that two years after the coup effort conducted on the part of the FETO terrorist organisation on July 15th 2016, Turkey is in a position in which it continues to develop its economy by strengthening democracy and its institutions.
In a statement to Anadolu Agency (AA), Ambassador Kilic stressed that since this coup effort, Turkey has been developing its economy under the law's measures to clean institutions from FETO remains.
The Turkish ambassador to Kosovo, which stressed that on the night of July 15th, the Turkish people have shown friends and enemies that democracy is a value for which to be fought to the death, on the night of the attempt it was named as the night of the victory of democracy.
She claimed that even this year, like last year, would remind martyrs who had fearlessly taken to the streets to protect democracy on July 15th against the realist of the traitoral attack of the FETO terrorist organisation. Kilic announced that under the organisation of the Turkish Embassy in Pristina, the 15 July memorial ceremony will also be held.
Cılıc said that in the case of July “15th, the Day of Democracy and National Unity”, the Turkish Embassy in Pristina and the general consulate in Prizren in co-operation with the Yunus Emre Institute will organise photo exhibitions in these two Kosovo cities, while adding that “Marashi Solidarity of Democracy”, which had been held for the first time last year with the initiative of civil society in Kosovo.
Kılic also added that there will be prayers for martyrs, where organisers will be the Council of Religious Affairs Office near Turkey's embassy in Pristina and the Islamic Community of Kosovo.
Stressing that FETO is an untransparent organisation with treacherous intentions and that such structures should not have room within democracies, Kılıc expressed satisfaction with the fact that many states of the world and public opinions have begun to understand this.
FETO structures are being carefully torn up in the United States. This is a very serious development. Also, in European countries, Germany and Britain, in statements by authorities and prepared reports has been clearly noted that there is no denying that behind the coup attempt on July 15th is FETO, which with its complex structures has infiltrated Turkey's bureaucracy, military and judiciary for years. This indicates that we now have concrete results from our information activities developed over the past two years”, Kilic said.
Kılıc confirmed that FETO is still active in the Balkans, continuing to poison the public with several structures and with the so-called <x0 educational institutions”.
Turkish ambassador said the deportation of six FETO members/ PY in March as a result of prepared reports and decisions made by Kosovo institutions has been an important preventive measure.
This is an important development that shows that in Kosovo it has begun to understand how dangerous the terrorist organisation FETO is. Of course, we expect the structures of this organization here to get a total blow. Our expectations are that there must be further concrete results about our fight against this organization. Our close co-operation at all levels and Kosovo institutions is continuing”, Kilic said.
Stressing that half of FETO schools in the world are removed from control of this organisation, she said she expects developments in the coming period in terms of their educational institutions, though, as Kılıc noted, know that this organisation has many different structures.
And we've already said, so when it comes to these schools, we see there's been a number of measures taken around the world for so-called education institutions, because they're beginning to understand the true face of the FETO terrorist organization. Today, in more than 30 countries of the world over 100 FETO schools have either been shut down or passed to the state where they are, or transferred to the Maarif” Foundation, Kilic said.
According to the ambassador, accepting the request for asylum of FETO members by Kosovo authorities is dangerous in terms of international law. She noted that granting refugee status to FETO members is a violation of international law and of relevant provisions of the 1951 UN Convention on Refugees Status, which Kosovo has acknowledged with unilateral statements.
Kılıc said Turkey does not want a friendly country like Kosovo to be a state that commits violations of international obligations and opens its doors to terrorists. Turkish diplomat, referring to several media news reports regarding the granting of refugee status to FETO members in Kosovo, underlined that Kosovo should review these decisions in line with its international obligations, and added that it expects the withdrawal of this status
