He noted major financial commitments by NATO allies as a measure of his success, though it was not immediately clear what specific pledges he secured and the president refused to elaborate further than by saying NATO allies would spend more on defence and faster.
Trump also noted progress during the past year, ahead of this NATO summit.
“We got $33 billion more,” said Trump, pointing to big financial commitments.
Trump insisted that the “all in that room came together”, referring to NATO allies.
