The results of a recent survey by “Reuters” of the Ipso Institute after the summit and a joint press conference by Trump and Putin showed that 42 per cent of registered voters approved Trump's movements as president.
The latest survey found that 55 per cent of American respondents did not approve the way Trump manages relations with Russia, while 37 per cent of respondents approve. Among the Republicans, 71 percent say they have nothing against Trump's policy towards Russia, while with the Democrats, 14 percent have such an opinion.
Trump continues to enjoy broad support among republican voters, despite criticism by party leaders for his statements and actions by answering journalists' questions after the Helsinki Summit Monday, along with Russian President Putin, shows the latest poll results, said “b92”, Periscopi broadcast.
Trump, however, surprised his supporters too when he welcomed the denial of Putin's “enabled” in the American elections at that press conference.
Most registered voters, 59 percent, agree with the US intelligence agencies' conclusions that Russia tried to influence US elections, which only 32 percent of Republicans believe, while 84 percent do not believe it. The “pollReuters” in co-operation with Ipsos reveals a clear division between republican and democratic voters when it comes to the question whether Russia should be considered an enemy of the United States.
In total, 38 percent of registered voters think that Russia is an enemy of the United States, while approximately the same percentage of respondents consider Russia to be a “corresponding” and eight percent ʹ “enemies”. As a direct threat from Russia, 27 percent of American polls have approved. /Periscopi/
