They expressed their determination to continue the strike until all requirements are taken into account and all requirements are met.
The chairman of the Trepca Workers' Union, simultaneously a member of the Board, thankful Sadiku, has announced that all jobs in Trepca have been suspended, except the key sites in which custody is being provided in order not to endanger its mines and vital points.
According to him, the mines of Artana and Kishnica have also stopped working on solidification with Stanterg miners. He argued that miners have requested meeting with the Minister of Economic Development and members of the Trepca Board, but so far there is no response.
“Today has been the deadline, miners have demanded that the general strike begin. The reasons are many, the demands are clear, while all institutions are announced for our demands... at the moment only the key sites in charge of custody means we are not jeopardising the mine and vital objects. We are monitoring them and preserving them, while all other jobs in Trepca have been suspended... all Kosovo mines are on strike, the Artana and Kishnica mines, and they have been attached to our strike and all other tripca units that are down there have been attached to you... We do not need to hold on to the strike because we still cause the loss of ourselves and the state of Kosovo. We are waiting to reflect the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, in this case the miners have called for a meeting with the Minister of Economic Development and with Bord in Trepca, so far no one has confirmed the arrival and we are on hold”, Sadiku has said.
Zenel Hyseni, the miner, indicated firmly that without their demands being met, they would not work.
“We have our demands, they are known, we have given deadlines that sometimes and now are determined, without our demands met, we will no longer work”, he told Kosovas.
Otherwise, miners during the past month had held for two straight days a one-hour strike, as a sign of dissatisfaction with Trepca's draft state and other demands, such as the 70 per cent wage law from 50 to 55 years, the law on disability, health insurance, etc., warning general strike in case of not meeting the requirements.
