Summer season has entered its peak, but for many Albanians holidays are a luxury, which it cannot afford.
According to a European Commission-funded study, 65 percent of Albanian households have no income even to afford a week off from home.
This is the highest figure in the region, by a large margin from other neighboring countries, where the share of families who cannot afford holidays ranges from 38 to 47 percent.
Restes in Albania are a minority privilege, while most families must struggle to meet survival needs.
