Serbian company continues building wall on Ibër Bridge

Works on building the wall on the northern part of the Ibër Bridge in Mitrovica have continued during today. The wall, which is located on the route of KOlashinska, near the Peterrral Square at about 30 feet [50 m] wide, will be 37.5 feet [37.5 m] long, while its height will vary from 40 to 70 inches [40 to 70 cm]. [...]
Between the two concrete walls will create space of about 30 inches [50 cm], which will serve to plant flowers. There will also be no wall on a 30 - foot [9 m] perimeter, but moving poles will be placed in case of emergency vehicle circulation. Part of this wall was sworn in on Saturday, the rest are continuing today, as the end of the whole concrete wall will be realized tomorrow. Works on building this wall, or as residents in the north call it, “scale linking the ring to the pedestrian area”, is being carried out by the Zvecan company, whose owner is Rade Stevijq.
The realisation of the Ibër Bridge is funded by the EU, while works on “Cralj Square Petar” in the north, part of which the wall is also, are financed by the municipality of northern Mitrovica, while their value amounts to about 3m euros. By contrast, developments in Serbia's recent, Serbia-led preparations in Kosovo have resulted in delays in implementing Brussels' agreements, in particular opening the Ibër Bridge, which has had to happen on January 20, 2017.
