Ricalo promises support to raspberry growers

At this meeting, the minister has announced them with general developments in the agriculture sector, especially in the raspberry production sector, as well as with the ministry's support programmes for 2018, as well as with the opportunities these programmes provide for raspberry producers in the country.
Minister Ricalo has also announced them of the joint initiative of the MBPZHR with USAID for the “agricultural and rural development programme in Kosovo”, which has already been approved by the Kosovo Government. From this joint project, amounting to 3.8m euros, according to the minister, will benefit sectors with the largest export to agriculture, the plant's small trees and fragrant herbs.
It has shown that the collection centres will be consistently supported by the MBPZHR, with the goal of increasing their production and conservation capacities. Also discussed during this meeting is the possibility of supporting the sale of raspberries from the ministry by 0.20 cents so that farmers can overcome this crisis in local and international raspberry markets. It has also been talked about problems facing raspberry farmers on a daily basis and agreed that the association in co-operation with the MBPZHR co-ordinate activities to find a long-term solution to this important sector.
On the other hand, representatives of the collection centres and the chairman of the Association of Mjedra Cultivators, Sami Uka, thanked the minister for his readiness for co-operation and expressed their commitment to the support of local producers, in order to strengthen their mothership. They also presented the challenges they are going through, and stressed that we will co-operate with the institutions for these challenges to be overcome.
