PSD attempts to stop Thaci from attending July 18th meeting in Brussels

Social Democrat Party Deputy Chairman Visar Ymer has said of The KP, that through this session, is aiming to prevent the head of state from going into dialogue with Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vuciq, who has been warned on July 18th.

The “Po is clear that now these meetings between President Thaci and the president of Serbia Vuciq have been very frequented too much, and through this extraordinary session that we are aiming to do together with LDK and LVV, we want to discuss in the Kosovo Assembly and to clarify that currently Hashim Thaci, even though he is president of the Republic, has no mandate as regards continuing dialogue with Serbia. On the other hand there is no platform, there is no substance for this dialogue, and worse than that at these meetings that you're having with Alexander Vucinciqi has never been institutionally or publicly told about what or what you're talking about and why you're going and on behalf of whom you're going”, Ymer said.

Ymer adds that this session also aims to discuss the state platform for the dialogue process and leadership to take over the Parliament and achieve a social unity for the process.

So, first of all, how this phase of dialogue should be organised and what should not be discussed with the Republic of Serbia, what are the red lines of Kosovo, because we should have red lines in this dialogue process and then who should lead this process of dialogue. Who should be representing Kosovo in this process of dialogue. Always considering that the leadership and decision-making role should be held by the Assembly of Kosovo. The extraordinary session, therefore, is meant to also prove and publish it, and to clarify that currently Hashim Thaci has no mandate for such a thing and on the other hand we have to discuss the substance, so the state platform, so that the Kosovo Assembly is behind red lines and the framework of discussions with Serbia”, he stressed.

Number two The PSD estimates that the Kosovo Assembly should approve by two-thirds of state-run deputies in terms of dialogue and only then speak of representation in this dialogue, which should also be approved by two-thirds of MPs. Because, according to him, this alone ensures the legitimacy of this process.

“So we assure that we will have legitimacy for the dialogue process and on the other hand through the four-founding point of a commission that will oversee the Kosovo Assembly dialogue process and assume responsibility to oversee this process in each phase in order to prevent any damage that may be caused to Kosovo in terms of sovereignty, whether in terms of control of the territory or borders, whether in terms of the dynamicisation of the internal social functioning of”, Ymer said.

This PSD initiative, Ymer said it is waiting to support the other two opposition parties -- the LDK and Vetevendosje.
