During persons, including three babies have died, as the ship on which 16 people were traveling has been flooded northwest of Turkey on the road to the Greek island of Lesbos.
According to the Anadolu Agency, nine people have been rescued from coastal guards, meanwhile, search and rescue efforts are also continuing for a person considered missing.
This incident took place on the coast of the Ayvalik province.
The sinking ship is believed to have headed for the Greek island of Lesbos, which is found to be 20km from Turkey.
From January to July of this year, at least 54 migrants have lost their lives, during their efforts to move from Turkey to Europe.
According to local officials, the people who were trying to reach the Greek island were citizens of Turkey, and two are believed to be organising the illegal transitions of people to European countries.
