Only in this year's six-month period have 51 minors been sent to corrective centres, 48 of them detained, 2 with educational mass and one convict.
Sociologists and psychiatric doctors are concerned about increasing the number of minors involved in criminal acts, the newspaper “Zri” writes today.
The number of minors involved in criminal acts and other acts has marked increases. In 2017 alone, more than 700 minors have been sentenced by basic courts in Kosovo for various criminal acts.
According to the annual report of the Kosovo Statistics Agency, which has presented the annual mirror for gender and age-related convicts, it turns out that the number of minors convicted by courts has increased compared to 2015 and 2016.
There are 766 minors including young people between the ages of 14 and 18 who were sentenced in 2017 by the courts.
The largest number of minors belong to the male gender, and of the total 766, 40 are female and 726 males.
