Tahiri for Online Economy, said the innovations of this bill would help seizure illegally acquired property.
The debate over this bill has already been concluded, it has not been concluded, it has not been voted because of a lack of quorum, it has not entered the important vote, is that this bill will be voted and this bill will pass. So, it will go into effect and I expect early next week to be voted into the first reading, then to return to the Commission to amend the ideas of MPs that have on this bill”, Tahiri has declared.
Tahiri has expressed confidence that this bill will enter into force very soon and that justice institutions will seize property that has been illegally acquired. He estimates that with the new law, opportunities to commit seizures are far greater than in the past.
Even according to the justice minister, this bill will affect increasing the number of confiscated assets, this number, according to Tahiri, insufficient so far.
“Normically are all the statistics about how much has been confiscated with the court's decision and there's not a sufficient number that it should be, we know that assets which have been illegally acquired at least are supposed to be much bigger than this one that was confiscated, that's why I compiled such a” bill, has added Tahiri.
Furthermore, he said that Kosovo judges and prosecutors have high credibility and that they will succeed in ending cases which are considered serious.
I have no doubt that the judiciary and the prosecution have extremely high-indebted judges and prosecutors who will be able to complete cases, however serious they may seem to be able to complete it by” successfully, Tahiri stressed.
Tahiri said that no one will be spared from implementing this law, including ministers, MPs or people of the judiciary. The “will enable prosecutors and judges to arrive at decidedly decidedly all assets in anyone's hands, whether politicians, ministers, MPs, judges, prosecutors, whether it be businesses. In the hands of anyone who is the assets that were illegally acquired to be confiscated and returned to the state of Kosovo”, the minister Tahiri has declared.
The first of the justice estimates that judges and prosecutors have enough courage to seize illegally acquired property, as it is thought that in their pipe they may also be deputies and state officials.
This is going to happen, is this judiciary and this prosecutor, who has great efficiency in the fight against organised crime and corruption that has been praised by the European Union and is allowing citizens to move freely to a near future in the Schengen Zone, and I am convinced that these same judges and prosecutors are brave enough to seize the property that has been acquired by criminal action or, illegally,”, Tahiri has indicated.
The Enhanced Property Confisciency Bill has been discussed in the Assembly last week for more than 3 hours, but due to its lack of corumm, its vote has been postponed for another time.
