Gashi after the meetings has held a word of the case before the media, announcing that the border checkpoint in Merdare, which is still working, will not be launched until September due to the impasses in the works.
“Today we came to visit Unops' investment dynamics, due to some impasse, it has been planned for this border point to be launched in late June, but for objective reasons, they have failed to finish things. We are in the important phase of the beginning of the period of our countrymen' arrival from exile, and this is one of the most frequent points, most exiles exploit this border crossing point respectively. To see closely what challenges this border point currently faces, police officials and customs to reflect on these challenges. As we were informed today, the works will last until September, and this border point is not expected to be launched by September. These impasses also come as a result of some challenges that have come due to current reports with the Republic of Serbia, which they have influenced that certain jobs and the dynamics of their jobs have stalled”, the minister has said.
He also had a message for all fellow countrymen who have decided to cross over from Merdar to come on vacation to Kosovo.
