(8 years ago)A journalist was killed today in the vicinity of Cankun, east of Mexico, local authorities announced. The state government of Quintana Roo's “regrets the death of journalist Reuben Pat, director of the weekly Play News, who was killed this morning with firearms at the site of Solid”, wrote in a statement the government [...]
“The state government of Quintana Roo expresses regret over the death of journalist Reuben Pat, director of the weekly Playa News, who was killed this morning with firearms at the location of Soridad”, wrote the state government in a statement, writes ATSH.
According to the first information available by the authorities, the journalist was inside a coffee bar at the time he was shot to death by firearms in this city known as Playa del Carmen, located about 60 miles [60 km] from the popular Cankun tourist center.
On June 30th, another journalist from this online weekly, José Guadalupe Chan, 35, was killed in the same country on the Caribbean coast.
