Major compromises make Kosovo dialogue difficult HINA

The last meeting between Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, and his counterpart from Serbia, Aleksandar Vuciq, has disfigured diametrically opposed attitudes in efforts to reach a final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, say political affairs analysts. Within the framework of political dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, facilitated by the European Union on Wednesday, a joint meeting of Kosovo President Thaci and Serbia President Vuciq has been held.
Common in their statements was that the meeting was very difficult, while differences were essential. Vuciq, had even put the issue of Kosovo's independence within the dialogue itself, while Thaci had declared that Kosovo's independence and independence cannot be discussed at all.
The issues discussed between the two presidents, according to analysts, are inconsistent in essence in this phase of dialogue.
Politologist Ramush Tahiri told Radio Free Europe that dialogue makes major differences in attitudes between the two presidents difficult.
According to Tahiri, a dialogue is under way in Brussels, where parties are producing their options for an alleged agreement between the two states, without resolving fundamental issues.
The concept of President Vuciq is that there must be a compromise agreement between the Kosovo Albanians and the state of Serbia, which is a totally unfavourable and otherwise in terms of the state of Kosovo. Likewise, Vuciq stresses that Serbia's and Kosovo Serbs' interest will be protected. Meanwhile, the position of Kosovo and Thaci normally is that an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia should be established. Right here is the difference that the meeting is difficult and issues are essentially incompatible”, Tahiri says.
He adds that President Thaci does not have the mandate and cannot make agreements, which does not pass to the Kosovo Assembly.
Meanwhile, political affairs analyst from the Kosovo Democratic Institute, Artan Murati, tells Radio Free Europe that difficult this phase of dialogue makes the beginning of clarifying key points, which will contain the final agreement, which, according to him, is expected to have compromises that will not make either side happy.
Whenever it comes to the work of compromises, it is known that something must be dropped to gain something else, and this may be a reason why this meeting is considered difficult, as it has been found that attitudes are not rough and compromises must be bigger than expected by both sides. Also, when it comes to dedications, perhaps the European Union will decide on this ascetics, it can make it difficult for both Kosovo and Serbian leaders”, Murati says.
The opposite positions of the two presidents, according to analysts in Pristina, will make it difficult to reach the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.
Analyst Murati emphasises that an agreement will nevertheless exist, but that if attitudes are too distant between the parties, as it was distributed at the last meeting, it will take a long time.
On the other hand, analyst Ramush Tahiri says he sees no urgency of this final agreement in this year or next year. According to him, it is important to accept reality, preserve peace and stability, and continue dialogue.
The most useful dialogue is technical dialogue, because all the issues considered to be a hurdle are absorbed and I also consider that the comprehensive agreement between Serbia and Kosovo is not urgent”.
I think that after all the issues considered technical are absorbed, the political agreement would naturally come naturally into the spirit of the European Union”, Tahiri says, adding that the agreement should not be in the concept that someone loses and wins, or in the concept that there should be compromise under political options, since the options are of the past.
One of the European Union's demands is for dialogue to intensify and conclude with a comprehensive deal. In Pristina, but also in Belgrade, domestic consultations have been held on the positions and positions the parties will hold in relation to the agreement being warned.
Both sides have warned difficult decisions and compromises.
