Kosovo's Special Prosecutor has closed the investigation into the head of the Pristina municipality, Shpend Ahmeti, and other municipal officials, who were indicted a year ago by the PDK branch in Pristina for organised crime and misuse of official office, KTV reports.

The prosecution says it did not find sufficient evidence that Ahmeti and other municipal officials had committed these criminal acts. And, in the PDK, they say they are not informed of closing these investigations.

In September last year, PDK in Pristina had made a decision to sue current Pristina chairman Shpend Ahmeti, and several other municipal officials with allegations of organised crime.

According to this speculation, Ahmeti and other municipality officials on the basis of party preferences had issued construction permits to party militants and interest groups close to Vetevendosje officials.

The speculation also said that by agreement the suspects had denied construction permits to Pristina citizens under equal conditions until either party militants had been allowed construction permits contrary to the Law for Building.

But nearly 10 months later, the Kosovo Special Prosecutor has made a decision to close the investigation into the case.

The lack of evidence, according to special prosecutor Sylla Hoxha, has brought this case to a close.

KTV has contacted PDK Secretary in Pristina Bujar Cakoli, who had handed this criminal outcry to the prosecutor last year. Chocolate, in short, has said it's unaware that the investigation into this case is closed so I can't talk about the case.
