Kitarovic, during his stay in Tirana, said Albanians have fought for Croatia's freedom, even dozens of them have given their lives, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
Those statements, Croatia's president, have been making during the joint conference with Albania's president, Ilir Meta, Wednesday afternoon.
“We discussed co-operation between Albania and Croatia. Albania was our friend when our friends were few. We were supported during the war in Croatia. We appreciate that support. Of the Albanian community in Croatia, which is about 10,000, 2,500 were volunteers in Croatia's war, 87 were killed, 37 are missing. This is a very big issue for us and we are grateful to Albanians who fought for our country's freedom. Albanian mining in Croatia is an example of minority representation in society. I think we have greater potential for our co-operation in various fields”, said Kitarovic.
