In the central part of Japan, temperatures have reached approximately 91 degrees Celsius, or 105 degrees. Fahrenheit.
The city of Kyoto has registered for seven days a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius.
The unusual heat has caused people to question whether the 2020 Summer Olympics are worth it?
John Coates, head of the Olympic inspection team, was in Tokyo last week. He said high temperatures remain a major challenge for organisers of the Summer Olympic Games.
