At least 199 people have died in floods and landslides in western Japan, Japanese government spokesman said today.
In addition to the 199 dead, authorities claim that dozens of others are counting on missing persons, the media mention that the number of missing persons is about 60 people. The government has claimed that this tragic provision on victims is not final.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has ordered at the crisis group meeting to be worked as quickly as possible on the rescue of the endangered, spokesman Joshihide Suga has said in address to the media.
Abe has postponed his visit to four countries, including Belgium and France, and has visited the province of Okajam, one of the hardest - hit parts with Hiroshima and plans to visit another hit region tomorrow.
The prime minister has not issued statements but has talked briefly with some locals who had suffered.
This is the worst weather disaster that hit Japan since 1982. The government is reviewing the risk assessment methods until the opposition is sharply criticising its move in crisis, which is deemed late.
