The founder of the Yasu project, Yasuharu Inue, said the lack of mosques in the country has prompted him to create such a means of welcoming Muslim visitors to the 2020 Olympic Games.
“As an open and host country, we want to share the idea of Japanese hospitality to Muslim people”, he said in an interview.
