Neither side reported casualties or large material damage. Israel has said it has attacked military targets and has warned civilians in Gaza to keep distance from parts of the city.
Israeli Army official Jonathan Conricus said the latest attacks have hit about 40 of Hamas, including tunnels, logistical centres and a military headquarters.
Conricus said escalation has resulted from Hamas' missile attacks and violence along the border.
The Health Ministry at the Gaza Strip has said a 15-year-old Palestinian has been killed during protests 13 July along the Gaza border, meanwhile, a 20-year-old also passed away after the wounds suffered.
Palestinians in Gaza for months are organising protests along the border with Israel.
