Pakistani authorities have said 13 July that the attacks have occurred amid tensions following former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's arrest, who has returned to face corruption charges.
Pakistani police have said the suicide bomber has targeted an election campaign convoy near the southwestern town of Kueta, leaving at least 85 people dead, including the candidate, Siraj Raisani, who has been competing in the July 25th general elections.
At least 150 people were injured in the attack, which he claimed responsibility for, the militant group, the Islamic State.
Earlier in the day, five people were killed and at least 32 others were injured in a bomb explosion that had targeted another candidate.
On the same day, former Prime Minister Sharif was also arrested after returning from London to face his ten-year sentence following charges of corruption.
He has returned from London after visiting his wife, who is being treated in hospitals in the British capital.
Sharif is expected to appeal the court's verdict and seek parole.
