Full declaration of EU mission chiefs in Kosovo

“After the visit of EU mission chiefs protected in Decan on June 26th 2018, we welcome the agreement between members of the Council for Implementation and Supervision (KZM), which Kosovo has the obligation to abide by in all its legislation on the Special Protection Areas and its international pledges concerning the protection of religious and cultural heritage, as well as the rights of members of its communities. While the EU understands the value of roads connecting communities, applicable procedures must be respected. Prior to the start of any activities affecting the Special Protected Zones should be consulted by the Council for Implementation and Supervision (KZM) and to respect its decisions as a whole, in the interest of preserving religious and cultural heritage and supporting rule of law in accordance with Kosovo's international pledges. The EU recalls Kosovo's earlier pledge not to start street work until full planned and financing is made on the side road, as well as appeals to respecting this pledge”.
