The Central Election Commission (KQZ) will continue to be dysfunctional for a while. This institution has remained dysfunctional since late March of this year, when CEC members have expired.
The uncertainty over the division of CEC members, who have had the country's president, has done what to address the Constitutional Court over the division of mandates in the CEC.
The Constitutional Court has acknowledged that the subject has already been sent by President Thaci, but it is not known when it will be considered, as this court does not have the necessary quorum to examine.
This request has already been recorded in the subject register. The subject will be considered after the Court has the necessary quorum for decision-making”, says the court's response to news.net.
Otherwise, political parties have sent to the presidency the proposed names for members of the CEC, except the AAK and the Initiative, which as part of the coalition with the PDK, will have a representative in the CEC.
President Thaci has been criticised by civil society for failing to appoint members to the CEC.
Krasniqi has long ago shown the division of members in the CEC, according to political parties.
According to the CEC's division formula, the right to nomination of members have:
The Coalition PAN two members of the four they had so far;
The LDK-AKR coalition two members from one had (if they do not have internal agreements), both members may be from the LDK);
) Vetevendosje Movement two members by one; and
There are four other members of non-US communities (Serbian, Turkish, Bosniak and Ashacal)
