The mayor of this municipality, Bashkim Ramosaj, expects agreement with representatives of this religious institution to be reached, on the contrary, will build the road through another village.
The fivekm of the road, which connects Decanin to Montenegro's border through the protection zone of the monastery, will not be asphalted.
Days ago, all the diplomatic choirs and actors involved went to Decan to report closely to the real situation on the ground and agreed that the work on that section would be banned.
They unanimously said that even without the Commission's consent to Special Zone Monitoring and Supervisor, nothing will be built in this area.
Minister Lekaj and the mayor of the municipality were thus told by the internationals that the Special Zone Protection Law should be respected.
And just Article 5 of this law says that roads cannot be built in specific areas.
According to the mayor, this situation was created ten years ago by the deputies of the 2008 legislature when they passed the law.
Civil society in this municipality sees this as a double international game.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Infrastructure vows to respect the deal reached with internationals, believing that in the near future, they will asphalt that part as well.
All agreements that are in the spirit of Kosovo's laws and constitution will be strictly respected, and investments will always be made in the spirit of understanding and co-operation with all relevant factors”.
Works on the Decani-Plav road began in May, until only street construction was allowed to be placed in the section around the monastery's protected area.
This is because the monastery is not allowing asphalt to be built inside the protected area.
