Kosovo's Independent Customs Union has reacted to the initiative for classifying customs officers on civilian staff, praising that not all employees may have similar duties and responsibilities and unification of the workplace's descriptions.
It has also been warned that if the situation in relation to Dogan doesn't change, then the union will take all consonanced union actions to protect the organisation's interest and welfare.
Through a media report, this union estimates that the classification of Kosovo Customs employees as civil servants, changing the status of customs officials, organising Kosovo Customs will have a direct effect on the role and complex mission of Customs in the border security field, but also on the collection of revenues, where Customs and its employees are highly regarded from the founding in meeting this mission and state objectives.
In view of the fact that the ranking presented for customs positions in the annex is not compatible with status, responsibilities, complexity, circumstances and conditions in which customs officials are working in the salaries under the draft latest proposal by the processing group”, Kosovo Presses reportedly follows.
They have asked Minister of Public Administration Jagcilar (sponsors of these laws) from the working group to consider their proposals as follows:
·ification/respecting of coEffients has taken into account the unique status of customs officials, the complexity of their work, the nature of the work in Dogan, the demands of working to respond to the needs of labour service at any time and at any angle in the country's territory
· Preserve and advance the salaries of customs officials based on status, customs specifications professionalism, customs organisation levels and wage differences at each level;
· Not finalised without any remarks, comments and proposals and without integrating them.
