Australia's newest maximum security prison has no cell, and convicts can make late - night calls or watch personal touch TV.
Hunter Correction Centre (HCC), north of Sydney, is thought to be the future of prisons, where some of the worst possible criminals can be rehabilitated.
Even though the 400 prisoners of this institution have privileges that others do not have in common high - security prisons, they work and have compulsory teaching programs that prepare them for life that they have to live after the sentence is lifted.
They are also under the strict surveillance of 600 cameras that watch every movement. In case of incidents, there's always a elite team standing in prison.
In the first six months of the HCC operation, there have been no incidents, so the elite team has not been put to work yet.
