The European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy's former senior representative said Kosovo and Serbia should implement agreements reached years ago. She mentioned that during the time she was mediating there were red lines. President Thaci, after returning from the last meeting in Brussels, said there will be no red lines during the final phase of the talks.
The European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy's former senior representative said Kosovo and Serbia should implement agreements reached years ago.
Ashton said that our “goal in the April 2013 Brussels Agreement was to improve lives and opportunities for the people of Kosovo and Serbia. We agreed that the two countries' future is in the European Union and that the first agreement was to help them solve problems and make changes that would help them move forward”, broadcast public television reporting European Western Balkans.
According to Ashton, “must be implemented as a whole and they must continue to work together, including President Vuciq and President Thaci, who have established a significant working relationship”.
Most experts agree that Kosovo- Serbia has been carried out using the principle of “constructive understanding”, where agreements were left mutually and interpreted differently from both sides.
According to Ashton, <x0); each side brought their red lines to the discussion, areas they couldn't pass and we respected them”.
As she explains, there are many states calling for success and are willing to help. We all want results that make sense, respect each other and that are in the best interest of the people”.
Ashton will give a speech today at the London Western Balkan Summit.
