The United States Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, has blamed Middle East countries for not doing enough to help the Palestinians financially and to help them advance the peace process.
“Where are Arab countries when it comes to supporting compromises that are necessary for peace?” Haley said Tuesday during a UN Security Council meeting.
The time is especially for regional states to grow up and really help, instead of giving speeches thousands of miles away from”, Haley said further.
“Where are Arab countries when it comes to encouraging reconciliation among Palestinian factions, which is essential to peace?”, she asked.
Haley stressed American aid to Palestinians, saying Washington provided $300m in bilateral assistance last year and “more than six billion bilateral aid to Palestinians” since 1993.
He also cited US aid to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRËA).
We remember that last year US President Donald Trump said the United States recognises Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This step made changes in their policy towards this state.
