The engagement and mobilisation of all actserits has called for Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj to prevent traffic accidents.
At the Government meeting, Haradinaj has said that the large number of fatal accidents is disturbing, while demanding general mobilization to prevent these tragic accidents.
“Following these indicators requires a mobilization of all mechanisms to improve and increase caution in communications. The Ministry of Internal Affairs, I believe, should increase its presence effectively, with police and other measures of control, and that of transportation will initiate an immediate action, so in signals, in the identification of the risks of the KAI warns drivers with warning signs. But not only that, all other relevant mechanisms that have a role in security in communications and that may be others, we need to take seriously, so the situation is quite tolerable to lose people's lives so”, he said.
As for accidents, Interior Minister Bejtush Gashi has said they are preparing a detailed and complex analysis of the causes of accidents.
Despite the measures we've taken on the appeals level knowing this is the moment when we have a larger flow due to the arrival of our countrymen from exile. However, despite additional measures again, disasters have occurred, we are in the process of a complex analysis, including the Ministry of Transport, see and come up with concrete results”, he said.
For the situation at Kosovo's border entry points from the Republic of Serbia, Minister Gashi has said that institutions have taken measures in simplifying and speeding up procedures.
The minister has said Kosovo-based expectations are on average between 3 and 5 minutes, while he has said that long expectations are being caused by strict measures and control by the Serbian side.
“Around easing procedures we've taken all measures to make this season's expectations small. Overall, police engagement has increased, increased resource growth at border points, even with additional equipment. At border crossings according to information are enough, management is also in its processes and responsibilities. According to recent information expectations are 3 to 5 minutes in the Kosovo section. The expectations come as a result of extremely strict control on neighbouring territory, in the Republic of Serbia respectively, and in this direction the entrances and exits from Kosovo's territory at all border points the average wait is 3 to 5 minutes. It should be mentioned that the larger points or flows where it is currently used and implemented the law in force facilitating measures, extenuating checks”, he said.
These precautions by the Government of Kosovo have come from the large number of traffic accidents, where in many cases they have ended with fatality. Only yesterday in a traffic accident have three people lost their lives.
