Tens of thousands of workers, landowners and creditors will continue to suffer from the new Bill on the Supreme Court's Special Chamber of Cases on Kosovo Privatisation Agency, if approved in the form sent to the Government Parliament, Koha Ditore writes today.
This, since their courses will continue to be addressed only under the Special Chamber, giving them no chance to be addressed in the Supreme Court, as is possible for those who are treated in basic courts.
Lawyer Bjetush Isufi, who has been dealing with privatisation problems for 10 years, has said the law as such is unacceptable and contrary to the Kosovo Constitution. According to him, it undermines the principles of Kosovo's judicial system and fails to ensure the standards envisioned in the European Convention on Human Rights that involve fair, impartial judgment and demand for effective legal means.
