Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has said that if the agreement is not reached with Kosovo, “Serbia is looking forward to difficult days, while currently there is more likely that the agreement will not reach”.
“We are following the course of talks between Belgrade and Pristina, and if they ask for help, we will be available. The United States continues to support dialogue under EU auspices, whose goal is full normalisation of relations between Serbia and Kosovo”, the US Embassy's response to Belgrade, responding to the newspaper's “Novosti” question, if the US are interested in engaging in the Kosovo negotiation process, Telegrafi follows.
According to the Serbian newspaper, Americans practically confirmed the possibility that Washington will take a bigger role in negotiations. “According to the knowledge we have, the idea is for the US representative to act from the councilor's position and not as an official mediator, to avoid the possibility of Serbia seeking Moscow's involvement in the dialogue.
Also, the desire to participate directly in the Kosovo agreement has shown by Germany, France and the Netherlands”, the paper writes.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq yesterday said it is not real to come to a solution for Kosovo without America and Russia.
These countries must be informed and reconciled to the event agreement”, he said.
Commenting on some Western countries' efforts to participate more directly in the dialogue, Vuciq said he sees no reason why China and Russia should not be involved.
“Why would only countries that recognise Kosovo's independence be participating” he said.
In the question of whether the so-called US <x0-leter” exists, the American proposal for resolving the Kosovo issue, respectively, Vuciq has provided no concrete answers.
I'd rather not answer. I think everybody knows what the correct answer is, no matter who says it. Have anyone's ideas for Serbia been expressed in any way? No, it's not”, he said.
According to the Serbian president, “if no agreement is reached, Serbia is expecting difficult times, while currently there is more likely that the agreement will not reach”.
Vuciq said he expects the continuation of dialogue or, as he said, “a new kind of dialogue” for normalising relations with Pristina by the end of June.
