President Recep Tayip Erdoğan voted in primary school presidential and parliamentary elections “Safet Cebi” in Istanbul's ousküdar.
The turnout looks good, even the information I have received from all of Turkey shows this. While in the world's elections, turnout is at 30 per cent, Turkey has surpassed these. Turnout at 85 percent in recent elections shows the progress of democracy, the level of democratic maturity in Turkey”, Erdoğan told reporters.
“Turkey, along with these elections, is currently conducting a democratic revolution” the Turkish president said, claiming that Turkey and the new governing system will be able to reach the level of contemporary civilisations.
“I believe that with the rise of this level, our country will continue the subsequent process without being at all hampered by bureaucratic oligarchy. So I believe that the high turnout of all my citizens is a sensitivity. I send greetings, love and respect with all my affection for all my people”, the president of Turkey said, (AA) reported.
After stressing that he has so far learned that throughout Turkey there is no serious problem, Erdoğan has indicated that <x0I wish these elections to serve for the better and to be the beginning of a new period for our people”.
President Erdoğan also announced that part of the election results would be followed by Istanbul, while the rest by Ankara. /Periscopi
