On Tuesday or next Thursday, the European Commission's report on meeting the latest criteria for visa liberalisation for Kosovo is expected to be released.
However, integration connoisseurs say even if the EC estimates that Kosovo has met the criteria of fighting organised crime and corruption, and recommends abolishing visas Kosovo could remain without liberalisation this year.
This is because they estimate that some important states such as France, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden are reserved in this process and that they can block the decision on the Council of Ministers.
European Integration Minister Grant Hoxha, days ago in an interview with the newspaper “Voice”, has said they expect the assessment will be given, which will contain the achievements of Kosovo's war institutions on organised crime and corruption.
Hoxha has also said they have been lobbied to secure member states' support, as lobbies are the process as important as meeting the criteria.
