Blocked for more weeks will remain the Central Election Commission (KQZ). In the three months following the end of the term of members of this institution, President Hashim Thaci has decided to address the Constitutional Court with the request to take the interpretation regarding the number of nominations, which have the right to do each of the majority Albanian political subjects, but the response will not get soon, since, by this week, the Constitution itself has lost the quoum and cannot make decisions until the Assembly chooses new judges.
This same week, the ombudsman has decided to investigate whether President Thaci is violating the Constitution, holding the CEC members' appointments hostage.
The decision is based on a complaint discussing the consequences the head of state is producing through the determination to keep the institution blocked, writes Koha Ditore.
The initiative didn't come from the central level. It's from that bar. More precisely from Drenas, a bastion that the PDK has had for nearly two decades, as directed by Thaci.
