Thaci to answer account for dialogue with Serbia

The Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) has demanded that after Sunday's meeting in Brussels, President Hashim Thaci should address the Kosovo Assembly to inform MPs about the content of the talks and of the further steps of this process agreed on at the meeting. “The dialog process continues to be [...]
“The dialog process continues to be non-transparent. It is still not clear what the final phase of dialogue will contain, which topics will be part of these discussions, what is expected to be achieved at its conclusion, and above all how political inclusion will be guaranteed and respect for the constitutional mandate of the country's” institutions, the communiqué reported.
KDI stands behind its public request to the Kosovo Assembly, on May 29th 2018 to call an extraordinary session to discuss the new phase of dialogue, as the Parliament since its constitutionalisation has not held any agenda-point session of dialogue with Serbia.
Kosovo's “Convention should take responsibility in this process, defining expectations, and the red lines of the state of Kosovo, which at no moment will violate Kosovo's territorial integrity and the functioning of the unitary system by guaranteeing representation of the state of Kosovo in the international arena as equal to any other state. Kosovo institutions should not allow talks with Serbia to continue without reaching a political consensus and without a state platform”, the communique follows.
KDI also called on political parties to engage in this state process by playing a more constructive and responsible role, putting aside daily policies and political calculations.
